Chiropractic was developed in Davenport Iowa in 1895 by a magnetic healer by the name of DD. Palmer. However, the practice of joint manipulation has been known for centuries. In the middle ages there was a guild of bonesetters which served as a means of training, disciplining, adjudicating, and mastering its craft. The bonesetters guild was present at the foundation year of the University of Notre Dame.
